The project includes construction of containment dikes and placement of clean dredged material to create uplands, tidal wetlands, and open water ponds, restoring habitat for various wildlife species. The project was expanded to over 1,700 acres and completed in 2021, with capacity to accept about 68 million cubic yards of dredged material until around 2032. |
