Pori Peittoo Solar PV-plant

A 10 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) plant will be built at the Pori Peittoo within the area of waste treatment facility. The solar plant will be built on previously unused wasteland, making the project a sustainable example of land reuse. This approach minimizes environmental impact by avoiding the need to clear untouched natural areas, aligning with circular economy principles and responsible land use. The installation will feature bifacial PV panels, ground-mounted solar structures tailored to the site's geotechnical conditions, string inverters, and transformers. Located within the existing Pori Peittoo wind park, the project demonstrates how solar and wind power can be efficiently co-located. The project is expected to enhance the attractiveness of the Pori Peittoo industrial area for other clean energy-dependent investments. It also supports Finland’s and the EU’s goals to increase energy self-sufficiency and reduce reliance on imported energy, while preserving natural values.
