The Project involves the financing, engineering design, construction, operation, and maintenance of a modernized Poro Point Seaport, situated within the 236.5-hectare Poro Point Freeport Zone. The full containerization will require significant infrastructure upgrades, including the construction of container terminals, installation of quay and yard cranes, and expansion of storage and stacking areas. Advanced logistics systems, such as terminal operating systems and gate automation, shall be deployed to improve operational efficiency and road and rail connectivity shall be enhanced to ensure smooth container transport. The main objectives of the project preparation and transaction support services include conducting a market study to determine the preliminary viability or non-viability of theproject as a PPP; to determine the economic and financial viability of the project; and to prepare the bid/tender document, provide advisory and transaction support to the BCDA, and ensure effective bid process and contract execution until the financial close of the Project.
