Description | Port Dickson Power Bhd., had developed a 440MW (4x110MW) peak plant at Port Dickson, Tanjung Gernok, Negri Semilban State. Power Dickson Power Bhd. was a consortium of Sime Darby Bhd (40%), Malaysian Resources Corp. Bhd. (MRCB) (20%), Malakoff Bhd wholly-owned subsidary Hypergantic Sdn. Bhd. (20%), and Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) (20%). In February 2000, Sime Darby Bhd. acquired Malaysian Resources' 20% stake in the project and in February 2004, it acquired 15% from TNB for 105.5 million ringgit. Hypergantic Bhd. acquired the remaining 5% stake from TNB for 34.5 million ringgit. The project company was awarded an IPP license in April 1993; construction began in Dec. 1993; and the plant became operational in April 1995. A 21-year PPA that includes fixed and variable charges and fuel pass-through provisons was signed with Tenaga (TNB). A fuel supply agreement was signed with Petronas. The project company has announced plans to convert the open-cycle gas turbine into a combined-cycle facility with an additional capacity of 220-MW. |
