Description

Description

The Ports and Harbors Dredge Project for Philippines will assist in financing the procurement of new dredging and auxiliary equipment and the construction of a new slipway and workshop for the repair of its dredging fleet. There is a serious backlog of dredging in the ports of the Philippines due to the inadequate capacity of dredging equipment. This backlog is increasing. The project will correct this problem by procuring dredging equipment to reduce maintenance arrears, affect improvements, and ensure normal maintenance. Its components are: 1) procurement of a second hand bucket dredge; 2) procurement of a new twenty inch cutter section dredge and pipeline; and 3) construction of hopper barges. This project will reduce backlog and improve the maintenance and operation of new dredging equipment.
