Port Infrastructure Upgrade and Modernisation in West and Central Africa

This project involves the upgrade and modernisation of port infrastructure across West and Central African countries including Nigeria, Ghana, Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire, and the Benin Republic. The initiative aims to enhance competitiveness in international trade by accommodating larger vessels and incorporating modern technology such as automation, artificial intelligence, and robotics. Nigeria is rehabilitating the Apapa and Tin Can Island ports as an interim measure and developing additional deep seaports, including the Lekki Deep Sea Port with two berths, to handle future trade volumes.
