Port McNeill - Fire Hall Upgrades

The project will upgrade the Port McNeil Fire Hall to improve overall health and safety. The hall houses both the volunteer fire department and the ambulance services. The improvements will ensure response times are maintained. The fire hall was built in 1985. Recent extreme weather events have seen Port McNeil without power for extended periods of time (most recent in December 2020 for 31 hours). Power is also required for all vehicle bay doors and in the event of an emergency, precious minutes are lost in manually raising these doors. The self-contained breathing apparatus filling station and compressor, also requires a power source to re-fill spent bottles. The roof is now in need of immediate replacement due to leaking. The current compressor has reached the end of its useful life and needs replacing. The project works include: -compressor and appurtenances; -generator; -electrical upgrades; -removal/install LED light fixtures; -replace flooring; -paint walls and epoxy floor; -replace roof; -replace bay doors; -concrete bollards; and, -all related works.
