Description
Description | Engro Vopak Terminal Limited (EVTL) was established as a 50/50 joint venture between Engro Chemical Pakistan Limited and Royal Vopak NV. EVTL set up Pakistan's first dedicated liquid chemical Jetty Terminal at Port Qasim in 1995. Royal Vopak NV participated in the joint venture as Paktank Asia Pacific BV until 1999, when Royal Pakhoed NV - the parent company of Paktank Asia Pacific BV - merged with Royal Van Ommeren NV to form Royal Vopak NV. As a result of the merger, Engro Paktank Terminal (EPTL) changed its name to Engro Vopak Terminal Limited (EVTL). The IFC contributed a total of US$17 million in loans to EVTL in 1996. Operations commenced in December, 1997. On May 2nd, 1998 the new bulk liquid chemical terminal was officially inaugurated. The total cost of the first phase of the project was US$65 million. An additional implementation agreement was signed between Port Qasim Authority and EPTL in June 1998, allowing EPTL to build and operate an LPG facility at their existing Terminal at Port Qasim. http://www.engro.com/html/engro_paktank_terminal_limited.html None |
