Port Moody - Inlet Park Sports Field Redevelopment Project

The project will replace the existing gravel surface field, which is in poor condition, with a high-quality, all-weather artificial turf surface. Support amenities include bleachers, benches, nets and goals, an improved parking lot, two adjacent playgrounds, a new walking path, and environmental enhancements. The current sports field has reached the end of its service life and is underutilized due to its condition. Sporting groups note that the current field does not serve young players well and its poor condition is affecting enrollment. The Port Moody Soccer Club also provides one of the only Adaptive Soccer programs for players with special assistance needs in the Lower Mainland, an incredibly popular program that serves a vulnerable population. Registration for Adaptive Soccer is currently full, with an active waitlist. This project would allow program expansion and provide better recreation opportunities for all residents. The project works will include: - site preparation; - construction of artificial turf sports field; - installation of lights, field equipment including benches, bleachers, and nets/goals; - installation of a parking lot; - installation of playgrounds and walking path; - site landscaping enhancements; - environmental enhancements including interpretive signage, removal of invasive species and environmental compensation works; and, - related works.
