The project comprises the improvement of the Port of Cotonou's Benin Terminal in Benin. The sponsor is the company Benin Terminal (BT), a subsidiary of Africa Global Logistics (AGL), owned by Mediterranean Shipping Company Holding SA (MSC). The funding comes from International Finance Corporation (IFC), which provided a loan to the BT sponsor company of $21.08m (EUR 20m), announced on November 28th, 2024. The financing will support the plan to increase the terminal's berth and yard capacity, enhancing the Port of Cotonou’s operations and boosting trade flows in Benin and West Africa.
