Description	In November 2008, the Algerian government awarded a 30 year concession contract for the port of Djen Djen to DP World Djen Djen, a 50:50 joint venture between DP World and the port authority of Djen Djen. The contract was awarded through direct negotiation. The award of this port and the port of Algiers (ID 4973) were part of the same negotiation. DP World was expected to developed Djen-Djen as a transshipment hub for the western Mediterranean, but no information on the development plan and investment commitments was publicly available. As of 2009, the port of Djen Djen had a 17 meter deep draft and handled only bulk traffic. No information on the financing was publicly available. DP World Djen Djen was the second DP World concession in Algeria, the first being the Port of Algiers, whose handover was completed in March 2009. DP World took over operation in June 2009.
