Description	In 2005, the French container shipping company CMA-CGM and the Spanish investment group Progosa signed a 10 year build-own-operate(BOO) agreement with the Republic of Togo to build and operate a new container terminal at the Port of Lome in Togo. Lome was on the Gulf of Guinea in the extreme southwestern corner of the Togo, and it became important as ad administrative, commercial, and transport centre. Under this contract, CMA-CGM and Progosa established a joint venture, the Societe d’Investissement de Terminal a Conteneurs (SITC Togo), based in Lome. It was expected to invest US $76.9 million (58.7 million euros) in the next 10 years.
