Description

The project entails the construction of a new waste management plant in the Governorate of Port Said, Egypt . The project required an investment of EGP65 million (USD3.69 million). Sponsors of the project is Reliance Investments. Financial close took place in 2016. The plant recycles all the MSW produced in the Governorate of Port Said. The facility has a capacity of 550 tonnes per day (tpd) and produces 150 tpd of refuse-derived fuel (RDF) that can be used as a fuel in the cement industry as a substitute for traditional fuel like coal, natural gas and heavy fuel oil. The facility separates the municipal and industrial waste in order to maximize their value and they are used in the production of new raw materials such as polyethylene, polypropylene, aluminium, glass and iron.
