Description

Description

Porto/Post/Doc Film & Media Festival is a nine-day festival that screens more than 130 films throughout different programmes, turning Porto's most iconic venues into vibrant epicenters of film discovery. The festival is committed to showcasing critical and artistically ambitious cinema, with a particular emphasis on films that push the boundaries of documentary filmmaking. Our program, including film screenings, forums, masterclasses, and literacy initiatives, has been consistently committed to nurturing cross-border dialogue, engaging guests and audiences from different backgrounds. Beyond its core event, Porto/Post/Doc has become a crucial platform for supporting emerging talent, promoting alternative film circuits and fostering international collaboration. The upcoming editions will focus on: - Increasing the circulation of non-national European films, especially those from low-production capacity countries by: Introducing a quota system within the film selection process; Launching a new project in partnership with the networks of film clubs; Add new private screenings to the industry days; and finally, by expanding collaborations with VoD platforms; - Supporting the engagement and development of audiences of all ages, in particular, young audiences by: Expanding our Audience Development team; Investing in new communication channels; introducing a film program curated especially for young audiences and bolstering the impact of the Docs4Teens network; - Expand the impact of our Industry activities by enlarging the geographic scope of the project and guests; - Following a sustainability strategy that encompasses all the festival departments, working towards the incorporation of a Green Consultant, becoming a low-impact festival; - Ensuring a more diverse, inclusive, and representative film festival by: Introducing more inclusive film screenings and launching a new 5.000€ prize for films that highlight critical issues related to human rights.
