Description

Description

The proposed project ($86 million) consists essentially of $68 million of works to be constructed and equipment to be installed in four ports (Barcelona, Huelva, La Luz y Las Palmas, and Pasajes) as part of the 1964-67 Port Development Plan, together with some $18 million of cranes and other port operating equipment for 17 other important ports and for general port use. As part of the project, the government has agreed to provide $14 million to complete construction of certain works in the four project ports during 1969-70 and to carry out several additional works, not initially included in the Plan, which are essential to the efficient use of the Bank-financed works in these ports. These complementary works are not to be financed by the Bank.
