DC Water has implemented a bypass system to divert sewage around the broken pipe and is nearing completion of an enhanced bypass system to begin emergency repairs. Emergency repairs are expected to be completed in four to six weeks, with full repairs taking six to nine months. DC Water is also inspecting other areas along the pipe and plans to continue repairs throughout the year. |
