Description
Description | The Potrero Yard Modernization Project was planned to build a state-of-the-art transit facility for Muni with a modern bus storage and maintenance facility on four levels, increasing bus storage capacity from 156 to 246. The project initially included up to 575 units of affordable housing built above the transit facility, along with retail and community services. However, due to a massive budget deficit, the SFMTA has scaled back the project, eliminating most of the housing and the massive podium that would have supported it. Currently, only 100 units of affordable housing will be built next to the bus yard, not on top of it. The developer, Potrero Neighborhood Collective, will pay the cost to build the bus yard, with SFMTA agreeing to repay over 30 years. |
