The Pottinger renewable energy hub is a large-scale wind and battery project near the town of Hay in New South Wales. It was initially proposed as a 1.3 GW wind project backed by a 400 MW, 1600 MWh battery at the same connection point. Due to grid capacity constraints in the South West renewable energy zone (REZ), the project was only allowed grid access for 831 MW of capacity. The developers are

Description
Description | The Pottinger renewable energy hub is a large-scale wind and battery project near the town of Hay in New South Wales. It was initially proposed as a 1.3 GW wind project backed by a 400 MW, 1600 MWh battery at the same connection point. Due to grid capacity constraints in the South West renewable energy zone (REZ), the project was only allowed grid access for 831 MW of capacity. The developers are considering using smaller turbines or reducing the number of turbines to meet this limit, with a likely range of 110 to 140 turbines of 6 to 8 MW capacity. The project aims to reach financial close and start construction by the end of the next year for the 831 MW capacity. |
