By financing economic infrastructure (rural access roads, grain silos, wells) along selected agricultural value chains (cocoa, coffee, rice, vegetables), the module contributes to improving the employment and income situation of young people (program objective). The labor-intensive provision of economic infrastructure initially creates short-term income and employment opportunities, especially for young people. In addition, the structural improvement of the agricultural infrastructure in the intervention areas also creates medium and long-term income and employment opportunities, which open up new future prospects for young people in particular and contribute to sustainable economic growth. The program is a continuation of the FC projects Pro-Poor Growth for Peace Consolidation (GPC) Phase I (BMZ No. 2004 66 284) and Phase II (BMZ No. 2009 67 141). It also ties in with the TC project Promoting Youth Employment through Local Economic Development (BMZ No. 2015 22 184). As in the first two phases, the project sponsor of the FC project is the National Commission for Social Action (NaCSA). The financial contribution for the project is EUR 20.0 million. Due to the higher financing requirement, a further EUR 20.0 million was also examined for a possible fourth phase (reserve audit).
