Description | The Powell Creek Solar project is a 202 MWdc (150 MWac) solar power facility located in Putnam County, Ohio. It is Avangrid's second power facility in Ohio and generates enough electricity to power approximately 30,000 homes annually. The project includes over 300,000 solar panels and supported about 500 construction jobs, mostly filled by local union workers. It contributes an estimated $31 million to local taxing jurisdictions over its lifetime and about $1.1 million in annual lease payments. The project reached commercial operation in April 2025 and supports local economic development, including funding for new infrastructure in Miller City. |
