Description | Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) has signed a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Project Agreement with Africa50 to develop key power transmission infrastructure in Kenya. The projects include the 400 kV Lessos–Loosuk transmission line and the 220 kV Kisumu–Kakamega–Musaga transmission system, aimed at strengthening Kenya's electricity transmission network and improving power reliability in the region. The project term is 30 years and it marks Africa's first Independent Transmission Project (ITP) and POWERGRID's maiden project-financed international transmission venture. |
