Description	The project comprises: (i) single circuit 400 kV transmission (totalling 845 km) from the Karun hydroelectric plant to the major load centers of Arak, Esfahan, Omidieh and Ahwaz; all these, except Esfahan, are already on the interconnected system. Power supply to the system will thereby be increased by 500 MW in 1974 and by a further 250 MW in each of the years 1975 and 1976. (ii) Double circuit (206 km) and single circuit (77 km) 230 kV transmission lines to extend the existing interconnected transmission system in Southern Iran to Shiraz and Borazjan, which are now supplied soley by diesel units and gas turbines. (iii) A three-year comprehensive training program to be organized and implemented by consultants for TAVANIR's staff.
