Description | The proposed project includes: (1) addition of two 100 MW generating units at Kainji; (2) installation of additional transformer, capacitor and related switchgear to reinforce and improve the reliability of the major 330 kV substations of the system; (3) construction of a second 330 kV transmission line from Kainji to Lagos and the extension of intermediate substations; (4) reinforcement of existing distribution systems in 43 cities and towns and the electrification of 41 townships; (5) power development studies for the preparation of a long range expansion program, including feasibility studies of the project for the next stage of development and the design and specifications for the next generating plant; and (6) management studies and technical assistance to complement the expected Canadian technical assistance program. |
