Description | The Power Rehabilitation and Extension Project for Togo aims at correcting the critical deficiencies in the power sector by: a) streamlining the relationship between CEET (Compagnie Energie Electrique du Togo) and the Government (GOT); b) reinforcing CEET's organization and effecting improvements in all aspects of operations, including introduction of a performance contract with specific efficiency targets between CEET and GOT; and c) financing part of the investment program of the power sector for the period 1990-1994 including the rehabilitation, reinforcement and extension of the distribution grid, as well as the economically justified connection of new loads. The project comprises the following components: 1) the rehabilitation and extension of the Lome distribution system, together with related engineering and other services; 2) technical assistance; and 3) training. |
