Description
Description | The Power to the People project aims to develop a community solar "garden" in Pambula using flywheel technology for energy storage instead of lithium batteries. The project involves installing solar panels on shed roofs and land provided by the Sapphire Coast Historic Vehicle Club. The flywheels store kinetic energy generated by solar panels and can provide power for up to a month during grid outages. The system is planned to start with a 40kW solar array and expand to a 150kW system, generating approximately $75,000 annually by selling power to the grid. The revenue will subsidize electricity bills for vulnerable residents in the Bega Valley area. |
