Description | The Power Transmission Project for Venezuela will loan to Compania Anonima de Administracion y Fomento Electrico (CADAFE) to finance the foreign exchange costs of a 230-kv transmission Project which will integrate two of CADAFE major service areas, and inter-connect them with existing and future Caroni River hydroelectric plants of C.V.G. Electrificacion del Caroni, C.A. (EDELCA). This project consists of expansion of transmission facilities for interconnections with other power companies, as well as continued internal development of 115-kv and 230-kv facilities to integrate its own operations. The purpose for the project is to provide continued development of thermal power stations; and integrated development with the 230-kv transmission line interconnecting the Caroni River hydroelectric plants with CADAFE's Regions I and II. Reductions in out-of-pocket expenses and investments will more than recover the cost of the line in the first ten years of operation. |
