Description | The Transmission Project for Nigeria will assist the Electricity Corporation of Nigeria (ECN) for the construction of transmission lines, and distribution facilities included in the first three and one half years of a six-year expansion program. The project will consist of approximately 640 miles of the high voltage transmission facilities, along with the extension of the 33 kv systems at Port Harcourt, Lagos and Ibadan, and the procurement of equipment required for the expansion of distribution facilities. It will establish a transmission network and provide generating plants to meet power requirements in Nigeria. The electric power which will become available from this strategy will be the dominant factor in planning future energy supply for Nigeria. |
