The system uses an automated control system for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) to respond within a second to frequency deviations, absorbing or injecting energy to maintain grid stability. The FCR bidding process is fully automated using an intelligent algorithm developed with FlexPower, enabling independent market offers. The project includes a 52 MWh battery storage facility next to a solar park in Wanneperveen, the largest integrated solar and storage site in the Netherlands, aiming to optimize energy flows and grid balancing. |
