Description

A transmission system project by Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) aimed at evacuating 2,000 MW of clean energy from Units 3 and 4 of the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant. The project includes construction of a 400 kV D/C (quad) transmission line from Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant (3&4) to Tuticorin-II GIS PS and two 400 kV GIS Line Terminal equipments at Tuticorin-II GIS. It facilitates evacuation of 2 GW of nuclear power to Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, and Puducherry, supporting India's target of 500 GW non-fossil fuel energy capacity by 2030.
