Description

Approach IFC will leverage its experience by working with leading agricultural firms and embedding them as service providers in order to reach out to the actors in the supply chain. Capacity building trainings for the company technical team, dealers, and farmers will be designed and implemented. The goal will be to build the business case for leading firms to train farmers on climate resilient agricultural practices which extend beyond the life of the project. Project Components 1.) Farmer Capacity Building: To support rice, sugarcane and maize farmers with the training tools and technology to help them adapt to climate change risks and to increase productivity. 2.) Access to Agri-finance: To develop, in collaboration with financial intermediaries, appropriate products (working capital, input finance, value chain or equipment finance) that cater to the needs of farmers and agricultural supply chain members in order to help them adapt to a changing climate.
