Statistics Norway is applying for the award of a grant in the framework of SMP-ESS-2021-PPP-IBA in the field of PPPs data collection 2022. The overall purpose of the Eurostat/OECD Purchasing Power Parities program is to provide users with high quality PPPs and related economic indicators. To achieve this aim, Statistics Norway shall fulfill specified tasks under Objectives A to F. Additional tasks under Objective G included in the application will be conducted by Statistics Norway. Statistics Norway will achieve the specific objectives in line with the Eurostat PPP work plan deadlines as established by the PPP Working Group. In the execution of the tasks, Statics Norway will follow EU Regulation (EC) No 1445/2007 of the European Parliament and the Council of 11. December 2007, establishing common rules for the provision of basic information on Purchasing Power Parities and for their calculation and dissemination, as well as the methodological manual on PPPs, and specific instructions given by Eurostat. The project will be fully organized within the Division for price statistics Norway by the PPP team. The PPP team is assisted by Statistics Norway staff and price collectors with long experience in price statistics, including PPP surveys. The PPP team carries out all parts of the surveys fully or in cooperation with key actors, except for Construction survey and Hospital services price survey. The Construction survey is subcontracted as Statistics Norway does not have the in-house expertise needed to carry out the surveys in a cost-efficient way. The choice of subcontractors is compliant with national procurement rules. The Hospital services price survey is fully carried out free of charge by a senior adviser from the Norwegian Ministry of Health. The PPP team in Statistics Norway is responsible for the approval of all PPP data.
