The overall purpose of the Eurostat/OECD Purchasing Power Parities (PPP) Programme is to provide users with high quality PPPs and related economic indicators. The action aims at ensuring the provision of high quality and comparable input data for the purpose of calculating purchasing power parities, in line with the provisions of the PPP Regulation. The expected results are the purchasing power parities which are plausible and based on surveys of a good quality. The results will be used in a wide range of comparisons in the fields of economic and social statistics. To achieve this aim, the HCSO fulfil the specific task described under Objectives A to F and G.1. Consumer goods price surveys, Estate agencies rent survey, Capital goods price surveys (construction and equipment goods price surveys), Hospital price survey will be carried out and other PPP input data needed for the PPP calculations (CPI, Compensation of employees, Actual and imputed rents data, GDP expenditure weights, Tips, VAT data) will be delivered. The documentation, which gives a full description of sources and methods used in the framework of the PPP exercise will be updated. In order to exchange best practices, a visit will be arranged to a neighbouring country and visitors from another country will be hosted as well.
