Description

Description

The purpose of this project is to build, own and operate a regional water supply system east and southeast of the City of Lloydminster, which will provide high quality potable water to the communities of Marshall, Lashburn and the Rural Municipalities of Wilton, Eldon and Britannia. SaskWater will purchase potable water from the City of Lloydminster and redistribute it along a 31 km pipeline. SaskWater will own and operate the regional system and will be responsible to ensure that a safe and reliable supply of water is delivered to customers. The development of this regional supply system will improve the potable water quality and quantity available to the approximately 5,000 area residents that are currently supplied by individual wells and water treatment plants in each respective community. It will also provide significant opportunities for the region including new industrial development opportunities and supporting future population growth. The water supply system will have the potential to accommodate additional communities in the future.
