The project aims to increase the number of border commuters in the Öresund region by employing 50 foreign-born or second generation Swedes in Denmark. The aim of the project is to create good tools to promote integration in general, in particular by making it easier for this group of job seekers to find employment in Denmark. By matching attractive jobs with demanded skills, work commuting across Sundet will increase. The employment will both create important collaborations with companies that receive new employees and, on the other hand, to make visible any “Prejudice Window” available at workplaces. The short-term project goal is for 50 foreign-born or Swedish second generation immigrants to be employed in Denmark. The project notes that unemployment among vulnerable groups in Sweden is increasing while there is a shortage of labour in the Copenhagen region. Despite several beneficial factors for labour exchange across the Sundet, such as the less-managed labour law, the simplicity of hiring and the higher wages, the attractiveness of working in Copenhagen has decreased among Swedes and the number of border commuters has also decreased. The project will also take part of the experience of Swedish employers and foreign-born Danes. Interviews from all target groups will be conducted and then form the basis for the development of a methodological manual that will form the basis for a more equal and inclusive recruitment pattern in the future.
