Preparation of NAT SNaP Lithuania

LIFE technical assistance project „Preparation of NAT SNaP“ Lithuania (abbreviation - PrepNature SNaP LT) aims at the preparation and submission of eligible and good quality Concept Note and Full Proposal of Strategic Nature Project for LIFE sub-programme „Nature and Biodiversity“ Call 2025. The project will ensure consistency of SNaP project with the requirements determined by the LIFE programme. By this, PrepNature SNaP LT will contribute to the general objective of the LIFE programme and to the priority of the environmental policy of the European Union such as boosting and integrating the implementation of the EU’s policy objectives for halting and reversing loss of wildlife habitats and species across all sectors. Specifically, it is aimed at the achievement of the objectives of the EU Birds and Habitats Directives (Directives 2009/147/EC and 92/43/EEC) and to achieving target 1 of the EU Biodiversity Strategy by implementing the Prioritized Action Frameworks (further - PAF) (Article 8 of 92/43/EEC). The project will bring together experts of the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Lithuania, State Service for Protected Areas under the Ministry of Environment, Vytautas Magnus University and Environmental Projects Management Agency under the Ministry of Environment to accomplish strategic analysis and the revision of current PAF, taking into account the latest EU and national policy developments in nature conservation, especially the Nature Restoration Law, and to update PAF, further - to develop SNaP’s general and specific objectives and work plan to achieve them, also by engaging relevant stakeholders. Complementary funding will be mobilized, an active mechanism of its coordination will be prepared, and Concept Note and Full Proposal for SNaP will be prepared and submitted in time.
