Description
Description | Considering the issue that the diffusion of Artificial Intelligence will represent for the society in general and for the schools in particular, PAIDEIA develops activities for providing teachers with skills/competences necessary to know, apply and manage the characteristics and potential of AI in education (through teacher training paths formulated on the basis of a AI&ED competencies framework, a standardised curriculum and training materials), guarding against possible counterproductive uses such as the ones linked to disinformation/misinformation. The project blends research, training and policy-making activities to enable the scoping phase of each WP to have the most current and relevant impact: - Research about knowing and understanding the state of the art on AI&ED and its provisional future impact. - AI&ED competence framework (aligned with the existing EU Frameworks) for updating teachers’ skills in view of transforming teaching approaches while using AI&ED (so to foster capabilities that would be central to role of teacher as catalysts in sequencing and orchestrating AI-based teaching). - Spiral curriculum (training course/learning materials supported by an e-platform that will be active after the project end) that will cover the competence framework to develop awareness and skills of teaching using AI&ED in pedagogically and ethical ways. The curriculum will be piloted on a wide scale and in authentic contexts to assess and forecast future challenges. - Stakeholders’ specific guidelines and evidence-based recommendations for policy-makers, EU/national institutions on the basis of the work done, at both practice and policy-level, also in view of follow-up actions. These tools will be mainstreamed, transferable and long-term exploited with the aim of generating an impact on education and training reforms. A Permanent European online Forum on AI&ED will be created for keeping alive the AI discourses/experiences among teachers, AI experts and policy ma. |
