Description

Description

FreeMobi project aims to prevent and combat the excessive use of mobile/smartphones by primary school children (6-12 years old) in Spain, Greece, Italy, Poland and Cyprus, and to further empower children on their digital journeys, promoting their digital literacy, resilience and well-being. More specifically, the project will work directly with the children and schools to create a toolkit, based on the social and emotional learning (SEL) approach, to empower and equip primary children with the skills needed to use smartphones and to navigate the digital world safely and responsibly. As formal and informal educational settings play a key role in supporting digital literacy, the project will also build the skills of their families and educators, as well as involve the schools wider communities (incl. parents/guardians’ associations, other education providers, health and welfare professionals, local authorities etc.) through the SEL approach, in order become engaged in creating supportive environments for children, and guiding them on the safe and more responsible use of smartphones and online interactions. Awareness raising activities, including child-led community events and visual campaigns in primary schools will also be implemented to promote healthy digital habits and to raise awareness among local communities. The project therefore relates to the CERV-2025-CHILD Call and especially Priority 1: Children’s rights in the digital age (Reducing the negative impact of digital use on children's well-being).
