Description
Description | Objective: The objective is to improve existing urban services in EU cities for victims of SGBV in order to better reach migrant communities. The project is implemented by IOM, 2 EU cities, 4 organizations and their respective urban administrations. Activities: 4 different SGBV toolboxes will be developed and piloted. A first SGBV toolbox will be developed by The Brussels Rainbow House and IOM in partnership with The Brussels Capital Region. It is targeting LGTBQI+ persons, namely setting up safe spaces for LGTBQI+ as well as improving the LGTBQI+ existing services. A second SGBV toolbox will be created by IOM and the NGO Femme en Détresse in partnership with the city of Luxembourg. It aims at building capacity of frontline workers leading towards effective support of female SGBV victims. In a third SGBV toolbox IOM, the city of Rome, the Sapienza University and the NGO ETNA will target unaccompanied migrant children. The aim is to familiarize frontline workers with specific tools to identify SGBV victims. A separate module will be developed for the UMC allowing them to cope with SGBV. In the fourth SGBV toolbox will be created by IOM and the City of Gothenburg targeting parents in migrant communities and the impact of domestic violence on children. Type and number of persons benefiting directly and indirectly from the project: In total 346 frontline workers and 200 UMC will be trained during this project. These frontline workers will be disseminating their knowledge towards 20 Trainee cities. In total at least 700 frontline workers will be reached directly throughout this project. During the 24 months every frontline worker will be working with approximately 20 migrants. An estimated 14.000 migrants will benefit from these actions. Expected results: Frontline workers are better equiped to prevent and improve identification, referral, protection and recovery of SGBV victims. Migrant communities have better knowlegde and access to improved urban SGBV service |
