Description
Description | Prime Time is an independent Brussels based company that seeks out innovative storytellers with a critical approach of the world, from first-time filmmakers to acclaimed directors, and aims at producing bold stories with social relevance. Prime Time values the long-term collaborations it established over the years. The company has a tradition of supporting female filmmakers, such as leading Belgian director Fien Troch. Her 6th feature LIE is 1 of the 4 female driven projects in the proposed slate of 4 features and 1 short. LIE is a 3 countries co-production with big international ambitions and therefore a strong need to travel to festivals and markets. Due to the large number of actors, extensive work on the casting is necessary. ONE TAKE TWO and SOFT LEAVES on the other hand, are debut features which corresponds very well to Prime Time’s tradition of supporting upcoming talent. In the script development of both projects, experienced readers and coaches will be involved. The latter is the first feature by Leni Huyghe who demonstrated her talent with award winning shorts. Leni’s approach as a director requires extensive visual research and test shootings throughout the development of ONE TAKE TWO. SOFT LEAVES by the young Belgian-Japanese Miwako Van Weyenberg, builds on her short that was also produced by Prime Time. Financing possibilities will be explored and extensive rehearsals organised for the young cast to be prepared for the shoot. The 4th feature is SKIFF by experienced director Cecilia Verheyden, who returns to a personal film with a LGBTQ+ story, after international endeavours. We want to participate in a development workshop to explore possible co-productions and international script-coaching. LOYNES is the first professional and very ambitious short by Dorian Jespers that builds further on his acclaimed graduation film and festival favorite SUN DOG. Sufficient development funding will allow all these projects to reach their full potential. |
