The Convention and Cultural Event Centre is an energy efficient and fully accessible building that will serve as a cultural event and recreation hub for Central and Northern Saskatchewan. It is made possible through a one-of-a-kind partnership with the Woodland Cree First Nations: Montreal Lake Cree Nation, Lac La Ronge Indian Band, and Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation; and the City of Prince Albert. The partnership between the Woodland Cree First Nations and the City of Prince Albert to create the Convention and Cultural Event Centre is made possible through cooperation and coordination to develop an asset that will benefit all partners and the surrounding communities. With a strategic location serving not only the city’s population of over 37,000 but also catering to a regional catchment area of approximately 210,000, this modern facility promises to invigorate the local economy through diverse events and community gatherings.
