Prince Rupert Gas Transmission Pipeline

A natural gas pipeline project in northern British Columbia originally approved with a 2014 environmental assessment certificate. The pipeline is approximately 900 kilometres long, running between Hudson's Hope in northeastern B.C. and Lelu Island near Prince Rupert. The pipeline was purchased by the Nisga'a Nation and Texas-based Western LNG to supply natural gas to the proposed Ksi Lisims LNG facility. The project is undergoing environmental assessment for changes including rerouting and shifting the endpoint to the Ksi Lisims facility. The Environmental Assessment Office has determined the project has substantially started, allowing construction to proceed without a new environmental assessment.
