The aim of the FC measure is to achieve universal health coverage by improving the diagnosis and treatment of the various forms of tuberculosis and increasing the use of high-quality TB health services by children suffering from tuberculosis. This is to be achieved essentially by building and equipping a national TB children's hospital on the grounds of the Macheton National Center for Tuberculosis, Lung and Thoracic Surgery and by carrying out extensive training and further education measures for staff, particularly with regard to the special features of childhood tuberculosis. The target group includes around 3 million children (0-14 years) in Tajikistan. The total costs are estimated at EUR 3.74 million, of which EUR 3.5 million are to be financed by FC funds (EUR 3.0 million - investment and EUR 0.5 million - accompanying measure) and EUR 0.24 million by the Ministry of Health (project sponsor).
