KfW holds a trust stake of EUR 10 million in the Omnivore Partners Offshore Fund 2 on behalf of the German federal government. The fund invests in the Indian Omnivore Partners India Fund 2, which in turn provides equity to young companies that develop and market innovative technologies and services for the agricultural sector in India. The fund specifically uses India's strength in the field of technological innovations to solve the problems of inefficient agriculture. The fund was founded in 2016 and runs until 2027. The aim is for the fund's portfolio companies to increase the productivity, efficiency and sustainability of smallholder agricultural production, as well as to create additional employment opportunities and higher incomes for smallholder farmers. This is to be ensured primarily through the use of the technologies developed by the portfolio companies.
