Problem-posing with AI through ChildrenThe PACE (Problem-posing with AI through Children’s Picture Books about EU Values) project is an innovative Jean Monnet Module designed to enhance pre-service teachers’ competencies in mathematical problem-posing by integrating children’s literature, AI-enhanced learning, and EU values. The project aligns with EU educational priorities by fostering digital transformation, sustainability, inclusivity, and interdisciplinary learning in teacher education. PACE addresses critical educational challenges identified by Eurostat and EU reports, including gaps in problem-posing methodologies, interdisciplinary teaching, and digital readiness. The project incorporates AI-driven learning tools, children’s picture books, and problem-based learning strategies to equip future educators with essential pedagogical skills. By embedding EU values—such as democracy, human rights, and sustainability—PACE ensures that pre-service teachers develop a comprehensive understanding of European principles while enhancing their problem-solving capabilities. The project includes a structured module at Bursa Uludağ University, offering an elective course, teacher training workshops, and research activities. It will impact pre-service teachers, curriculum developers, and policymakers by fostering innovative, value-based education. PACE also integrates digital tools to promote accessibility and interdisciplinary collaboration, ensuring its sustainability beyond the funding period. Through strategic dissemination via the EPALE platform, open-access resources, and policy engagement, PACE will contribute to EU-wide education policies.
