PROGRAMME DE REFORME DU SYSTEME EDUCATIF

The present operation constitutes the first phase of the Educational System Reform Program (PRSE), which has been jointly prepared by the Government and the World Bank since 1981. The PRES constitutes a fundamental reorientation of the educational system in Morocco. It focuses on improving the chances of access to basic education and includes a set of measures to be taken and action to achieve the objectives of the reform for the years 1987 and 1988. The realization of this first phase of the program will make it possible to set up the basic structures of the reform, namely: the reorientation of the school system in favor of basic education; the implementation of measures to improve the use of educational resources; strengthening the principles of cost sharing and private sector participation. This support will be used to finance equipment costs, furniture, operating costs related to the entire education system of the country, that is, primary, secondary (1st and 2nd cycles), training of trainers and higher.
