The project involves the repowering of part of the Sidi Daoud wind farm in northeastern Tunisia. The project will increase the currently very low generation capacity for renewable energies in Tunisia by around 30 MW. The project will therefore contribute to an efficient power supply and a reduction in greenhouse gases. The project measures include the dismantling and environmentally friendly disposal of the old systems and the construction of new wind turbines, including the expansion of the substation to feed the electricity into the Tunisian interconnected grid. The project sponsor is the Tunisian state-owned electricity company STEG.
