Description

Description

The aim of the FC module was to contribute to the Mexican government's efforts to reduce CO2 emissions in micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) and to promote the spread of energy-efficient and environmentally friendly technologies in Mexico. An FC development loan of EUR 50 million in USD equivalent to the state development bank NAFIN was used to refinance energy efficiency measures in manufacturing and commercial industries as part of the Mexican energy efficiency program Eco Crédito Empresarial. By improving energy efficiency, a contribution was made to increasing the sustainability of the energy system in Mexico (DC program objective). The direct beneficiaries of the FC module were MSMEs in Mexico, which received low-interest financing to replace old, inefficient devices with new and more efficient models. The project sponsor is NAFIN, which implemented the project funds through the non-profit Mexican energy efficiency fund Fideicomiso para el Ahorro de Energía Eléctrica (FIDE).
