Project Blue Data Center

under construction

Project Blue is a massive data center project in Tucson, Arizona, initially stalled due to concerns over water usage. The project was originally planned to use millions of gallons of water per day for cooling, which raised concerns about depleting the city's groundwater supplies. After rejection by the Tucson City Council, the project was redesigned to use an advanced closed-loop air-cooling system that virtually eliminates industrial water consumption for cooling. The company committed to 100 percent renewable energy use for the air-cooled proposal and an additional $15 million investment in the community. The project faced local opposition and legal challenges but is now back on track after a settlement with the township.
