It aims to create 180 permanent jobs by 2029 and thousands of construction and indirect jobs. The project includes commitments to sustainable water use with a reclaimed water pipeline and aquifer recharge facility, and a long-term clean energy agreement with Tucson Electric Power. Construction was expected to start in late 2025 or early 2026, with first data halls operational by 2027. However, Amazon has pulled out as the end user, and other potential tenants are being considered. |
