Description | Project Commodore is an 83-story supertall skyscraper development at 175 Park Avenue, New York City, designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. It will replace the Hyatt Grand Central and become the third-tallest building in the United States, featuring a striking external steel lattice to support its vertical weight. The project includes commercial office space, a luxury boutique hotel, and a new transit hall linked to Grand Central Terminal. The design overcomes subterranean railway constraints by using colossal steel bundles anchored into bedrock, allowing column-free interior floors and wider pedestrian walkways. |
